| Furniture Designer
Occupation Description Furniture designers create and produce designs for both the domestic, commercial markets. They may also make models and prototypes of these designs for mass production. Some of their work might be carried out on the development of new products and some might be related to updating and improving the design of existing products. Furniture designers may… Furniture designers work closely with others in the field such as engineers, manufacturers, market researchers, marketing consultants, drafters and product testing staff. Environment Furniture designers usually work in studios when creating and refining designs using hands and-or computer aided design (CAD). They may also spend time in the field observing and researching product usage and in manufacturing plants observing methods of production and collecting information about new materials and production processes. Personal Requirements You should Training To become a furniture designer you usually have to complete a Certificate IV in Furnishing Technology or a Diploma of Furnishing Technology . With further training and experience you can continue to progress along a career pathway that could see you in many senior management positions.
