This qualification is designed to prepare people to work in the cotton industry in occupations such as cotton ginning shift supervisor or leading hand head press worker. This course is for people who want to learn the skills needed for safe work practices in the cotton ginning industry. You will learn about ginning machinery, ginning presses and rural workshop skills. You will also learn about fires and fire extinguishers, machine operation and maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, manual metal arc welding and electrical principles and safety. The course offers the opportunity to combine on-the-job training with off-the-job training and allows you to participate in the production process. You will gain an understanding of the various operations and principles in your workplace.
