Training Package: Textiles, Clothing and Footwear

This qualification is designed to prepare people to work in textile fabrication in occupations such as textile fabrication operator, assistant patternmaker, and sailmaking worker. It teaches students the skills needed to work safely in the textile fabrication industry. They will learn about different areas of the textile fabrication industry, such as production operations, machine maintenance, fabric and textiles characteristics, warehousing and distribution, occupational health and safety and quality control. This qualification can provide entry to a career in the canvas manufacture, auto and marine trimming, awning manufacture or sail making industry as a trades person. Students will need access to plant and equipment to complete some of the modules in this course.
