This qualification is suitable training for production assistants working in the plastics, rubber and cablemaking sectors who want to learn about the operations and practices in their workplace. It is suitable training for occupations such as plastics processing assistant, rubber processing assistant, or cablemaking assistant. Students will learn how to work safely and efficiently as an operator of specialised plastics, rubber and cablemaking equipment and processes. They will also learn about occupational health and safety policies and procedures, how to apply quality practices, and workplace communication.
