This qualification is designed to prepare people to work in the cotton industry in occupations such as assistant cotton ginner or head press worker. The course is for people who want to learn the skills needed for safe work practices in the cotton ginning industry and it covers competencies for a range of routine activities under supervision in cotton ginning. Students will learn about ginning machinery, ginning presses, rural workshop skills and fires and fire extinguishers. This course offers the opportunity to combine on-the-job training with off-the-job training and allows you to participate in the cotton manufacturing process. You will gain an understanding of the various operations and principles in your workplace.
