This course is designed to provide formal education for aircraft maintenance workers who work at Certificate II level specialising in the surface finishing of aircraft and aircraft components to meet industry and Australian Defence Force (ADF) aviation-specific requirements.

Students will learn: removal of surface coatings from aircraft/aircraft components, pre-treatment of aluminium alloy surfaces, sealing of aircraft structural seams, maintenance of aircraft non-primary structural components etc, workplace communication and personal skills.
