Australian Apprenticeship Training
All training for Australian Apprenticeships must be delivered, managed and assessed by a Registered Training Organisation. The formal training may be on the job, off the job or in a combination of both.

• Check the newspapers for job advertisements listed by industry, trade, occupation, apprenticeship, traineeship
• Contact prospective employers by phone, in person or by letter
• Group Training organisations employ apprentices and trainees and place them with different 'host' employers during their training and many specialise in particular industries or occupations

• A young person will probably be employed under and award or an Australian Workplace Agreement (AWA)
• They will usually be paid a training wage that reflects the stage that they are at in their apprenticeship or traineeship i.e. it increases incrementally each year
• The wage rates will depend upon the industry in which the Australian Apprentice is employed and their occupation
• It may also be dependant upon the State or Territory in which the Australian Apprentice is employed
• Their superannuation, workers' compensation and other entitlements will generally be the same as those of other employees
