Training and Assessment that results in a Training package Qualification or Statement of Attainment can be done in various ways such as online, on the job, mentorship, by correspondence or attending courses in person.

- Australian Apprenticeships include apprenticeships and traineeships and combine on the job and off the job training with paid employment. Australian Apprenticeships lead to a nationally recognised Training package Qualification.

- Full Time and Part Time Courses may be offered for some Training Package Qualifications through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

- Recognition of Skills. A young person can apply for recognition of their existing skills. This is known as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competency (RCC). Recognised skills and competency can lead to a Statement of Attainment for Units of Competency or count towards the achievement of a Training Package Qualification. Should a person receive recognition for all the required skills, they are able to receive the Qualification without any further training.

They are designed to provide a 'fast track start' to a career in Manufacturing.
