Occupation Description

Process management workers are responsible for the improvement of manufacturing processes. They will have a broad knowledge of their particular enterprise's manufacturing operations and processes and they will work continuously to improve efficiency and productivity.

  • Environment

    The majority of work time for process managers is spent on the factory floor, however some work, particularly for those working at a more senior level, may take place in an office environment.

    Training

    To work as a manufacturing process operator you will usually require a Certificate III in Manufacturing Technology . A Certificate IV in Manufacturing Technology will enable you to work as a manufacturing process team leader, and with a Diploma of Competitive Manufacturing you can work as a manufacturing process supervisor.

    Of course, with experience, and possibly further training, you can continue to progress further along a career pathway that could see you in a number of senior management positions.
